Scope of Function: Calibration Technicians are responsible for conducting in-house & external calibrations of instrumentation and customer instrumentation. You will be responsible for calibration report generation, maintaining all assigned test equipment and assuring equipment is in calibration. He/she shall fully comply with all regulatory / cGMP guidelines, standards, and policies.

Reports to:  Calibration and Metrology Engineer

 

Specific Duties:

  • Under the direction of the Calibration and Metrology engineer or Engineering management, the calibration/instrument technician will plan, schedule, conduct and record planned and unplanned inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of instruments, tools, equipment and laboratory and water systems in any area of the plant. This includes initiation and administration of the plan wide calibration program
  • Independently identify, prevent and solve technical problems related to calibration of laboratory and manufacturing measuring instruments, equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot automation and instrumentation problems for manufacturing and laboratory equipment
  • Organize and maintain the calibrations bench / lab
  • Independently identify, prevent and solve technical problems related to calibration of laboratory and manufacturing measuring instruments, equipment and systems
  • Identify, tag, and write calibration instructions, schedule and conduct all calibrations. Identify and initiate procurement of all tools, equipment, and calibration standards to be used for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration program
  • Conduct timely planned preventive maintenance and unplanned repairs and calibration completing documentation as required by local SOP’s
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience and Qualifications Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Instrumentation or Electronics
  • Strong Technical Writing skills
  • Hands-on experience on utility systems and Work Order management
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (SAP, Blue Mountain, Master Control or Maximo)
